
Latino Heritage Month Interview
In recognition of Latino Heritage Month, Latino Motion with Bert Lopez presented an in-depth interview featuring board members Nathaly Ozoria and Paul Avila. During this segment, they thoughtfully discussed the meaning and importance of Latino heritage in their lives, emphasizing the cultural values and traditions that have profoundly influenced their identities. They also reflected on their personal journeys as Latino immigrants in the United States, addressing the various challenges they have encountered and the significant accomplishments they have achieved in the areas of education, professional development, and family life. Their perspectives offer a compelling and inspiring narrative that underscores the resilience, dedication, and contributions of the Latino community to the broader fabric of American society.

The Hispanic Association of Atlantic County (HAAC) advocates to empower and advance the inclusion of Hispanics in all sectors of Atlantic County and State of NJ, while preserving its cultural heritage.

EDUCATION
HAAC recognizes the importance of a high quality education and is committed to helping youth in our community achieve their educational and professional dreams. HAAC continues to create educational events such as our Youth Leadership Summit. HAAC will also create a scholarship fund to help Hispanic students with the costs of higher education
CULTURE
HAAC is committed to sharing the beauty that is the Hispanic culture with its traditions, language, idioms, religious beliefs and practices, legends, arts, music, literature, cuisine, history, and family values with the South Jersey community and beyond
ADVOCACY
HAAC identifies community advocacy needs as it relates to overcoming disparities, under-representation and social justice. Efforts include, strategies to overcome barriers to community services and opportunities, education on nonpartisan civic engagement, legislative /policy updates, support for DEI initiatives, immigrant support initiatives, and programs to advance qualified Latinos to leadership positions.
